Have You Been Injured At Work?
Work Injury in Yakima and Lower Valley
Living in an agricultural area, work injuries are an unfortunate reality. Working in the orchards, packing plants or a local factory can be at times dangerous work. We treat patients that have suffered falls from ladders, or equipment failure that leads to injury. Other times, it can be as simple as lifting a heavy box that causes a back sprain.
Even if your job is not physical, you may still be injured at work. Pain doesn’t care whether you sit behind a desk or operate a fork lift.
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRIES, SELF-INSURED AND COHE
Our office has worked with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) for decades. There are rules that must be met and forms to be completed to ensure proper claim handling. Our office undergoes yearly training to make sure we are up to date on the latest rules. We keep employers informed of patient progress. As always, our goal is to get patients to pre-injury status as effectively as possible.
Many businesses in Yakima Valley use a Self-Insured Worker Compensation Company instead of L&I. These companies adhere to the same guidelines and regulations as L&I. Our office works with all Self-Insured companies.
The Yakima Valley is very fortunate to have the COHE program (Centers of Occupational Health and Education). This is worker centric program. They focus on good relationships between injured worker, medical provider and employer. COHE helps all parties stay informed of training and educational programs available to the injured worker.
